Key terms, defined

Crewed charter
A yacht rented with a full professional crew: captain, chef, deckhands, and often a hostess. Every yacht in this database is crewed.
Low/high season rate
The weekly charter rate in the cheapest and priciest seasons. The spread between them is where smart timing saves real money.
APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance)
An upfront budget, often 25-35% of the weekly rate, covering fuel, food, dockage, and incidentals during the trip.
Bareboat charter
Renting a yacht with no crew, where you sail it yourself. Not tracked here; this database covers crewed charters only.
Home port
The port a yacht is based in between charters. It hints at where the yacht cruises most and where your trip would likely start.

•Direct answers

Quick answers

Straight answers to the questions charter clients actually ask.

01

How much does it cost to charter a yacht for a week?

Anywhere from under $1,000 to several million. In our database, low-season weekly rates run from $670 for a small crewed catamaran to $3.78 million for a 119 m superyacht, with the middle of the database near $90,000 a week. Size, age, and cruising area move the number more than anything else.

02

What is the difference between a crewed and a bareboat charter?

A crewed charter comes with a captain and full crew; bareboat means you sail it yourself. Every yacht here is crewed, which is the right comparison if you want to relax instead of run the boat. Crewed charters cost more per week, but the rate covers the crew's service, not just the hull.

03

When is the cheapest time to charter a yacht?

Shoulder season, usually. Mediterranean yachts price lowest around April-May and October; Caribbean yachts dip in summer and late fall. We track both low and high season rates per yacht, so you can see the actual spread instead of guessing.

A sneak peek inside OnlineYachtClub

A peek under the hood. This is the data I work from.

How much to charter a yacht? Start with real numbers

Chartering a yacht feels opaque because pricing usually is. Brokers quote ranges, websites say "on request", and two identical weeks can price very differently. OnlineYachtClub exists to fix that: a yacht charter price comparison across 1,328 crewed yachts with weekly low and high season rates, so you can see what a luxury yacht charter in the Mediterranean or Caribbean actually costs before the first call.

Wondering how much to charter a yacht for a week? A small crewed yacht charter starts under $1,000 a week; a 100 ft yacht lists around $185,000 in low season; the 162 m superyachts run into the millions. Yacht rental newcomers often start with catamaran charter Caribbean prices, which cluster between a few thousand and $26,000 a week in our database. Whatever your budget, rent a yacht with the numbers in front of you. List my yacht to put this data to work for you.

•FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Charter costs, what's included, and how pricing really works.

How much does it cost to charter a yacht for a week?
Anywhere from under $1,000 to several million. In our database of 1,328 crewed yachts, low-season weekly rates run from $670 for a small crewed catamaran to $3.78 million for a 119 m superyacht, with the middle of the database near $90,000 a week. Size, age, and cruising area move the number more than anything else.
What does a crewed yacht charter cost on top of the weekly rate?
Budget an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), typically 25-35% of the weekly rate, covering fuel, food, dockage, and incidentals during your trip. The crew settles the exact accounting at the end. Mediterranean charters can also add VAT on top of the quoted rate, with rates varying by country.
What should I budget for catamaran charter Caribbean prices?
In our database, 69 crewed catamarans cruise the Caribbean, Bahamas, or British Virgin Islands, with low-season weekly rates from $714 to $25,900 and a median around $5,500. Smaller 12 m cats sit at the bottom; larger crewed cats with full amenities sit at the top.
Motor yacht vs sailing yacht charter cost: which is cheaper?
Size matters more than propulsion. Our database spans 12 m catamarans under $1,000 a week to 100 m+ motor yachts in the millions. Sailing yachts and catamarans cost less to run and often charter for less than motor yachts of the same length, but compare by length and age first, propulsion second.
Are last minute yacht charter discounts real?
Sometimes. Yachts with open weeks in shoulder season do discount, and repositioning crossings can price well below normal weekly rates. The catch: the yachts with real discounts are rarely the ones in peak season in peak areas. Set a price-drop alert with your budget and cruising area instead of hoping.
